well you can waste money on flow 40's or buy an identical muffler for $30/muffler the 2 chamber Thrush. Thrush is made by Dynomax and their quality is excellent. too bad Force Proseries mufflers went kaput. their mufflers were better than flow 40's and 1/2 the price. not that i don't like flow 40's i ran them for a few years till they rotted out but why spend that kind of money when you can have exactly the same sounding muffler for less than 1/2 the price with the thrush 2 chambers or even better the cherry bomb extreme single chamber. they are basically like the flowmaster race series single chamber but only $55/muffler. i run the cherrybomb extremes now and love them, and no they are not the old glasspack cherrybomb which by the way isn't a bad sounding muffler. they are just like a magnapak or slp loudmouthII.

another pack style muffler that sounds good on a few cars i have heard is the pypes M-80. it's like a mini magnapack. the moroso spiral flow is also a great sounding muffler

i got a VX muffler. apparantly flowmaster's patent expired so they use the same design. the guy at the shop has worked on v6 mustangs alot and said that the best exhaust sound is to get single in/dual out so i got it and it sounds great

Ummm..............no..............single in dual out isn't going to do much for performance, and I gurantee you that the sound potential still isn't there, but still better than stock.

ive had a single flowmaster 40 on my 03 v6 for a year and for 50 bucks you cant get much better than that. its not great and you should listen to these guys and save for a full set up but to give the car a little better than stock sound its cheap and easy. i also recommend dumping it instead of going out by the bumper

I run Spin Tech. Best tq out of the group of commonly used "performance" mufflers that I tested. Good sound as well.

When doing a test/tune around town, with the tuner in the car, the appartments near by called the cops and said a motorcycle was hot rodding around by them. When the officer who responded arrived, he asked us if we've seen a bike blasting around here, and we told him he took off about 5 mins ago. When the fuzz didn't leave the parking lot, I left going REALLY slow.

So down low, is where it matters.

I've had Stock GT's, Flowmaster, and MAC, with my O/R X and they all sound like a bike up top.
I do like my MACs, they're not to expensive either.
