It's not going to do anything whatsoever performance wise. It's more of a safety device that some divisions/classes of racing at your local track require you to have (kinda how you are supposed to have a helmet if you run under 12s in the 1/4). The stock driveshaft is safe up to about 120 mph. And if you are trapping a speed that quick, you are running somewhere in the mid-high 11s. An there is no reason you should be doing 120 on the streets. Check out LilRoush's sticky and you'll see why.
In short, no don't waste you time and money on it.

I got one, mine's a Metco that I got from a guy on SVTP that he never installed. With mine the carpet has to come out to be installed.
