Ford does not clear coat over vinyl, it would have to be aftermarket if that were the case.

Ford may not clear coat, but the paint shop did after lots of hail damage and a new paintjob about 3 years ago...

Notice my "Mustang" letters are at the back of the door instead of the front of the door?

Strip and repaint the car then, starts at about $3500.

Maaco can go through the same steps for half that price but quality may be an issue depending on the shop you go to. The Springfield Missouri shop is top notch and follows full professional stripping, light thin bondo where needed, priming, color, clearing and color sanding for half the cost of TopCrafts $3500 job.

Top Craft always has luxury cars in there to give you an idea of value.

They use the brands and color of your choice but price will differ accordingly.
You should note that their cheapo $250 job is not the same by any means.

Probably should have told everyone first that it was cleared over.

If you had pictures up they didnt load on my end, still dont see any. Do you have a direct link?

And note. I want to remove the white strips. Not the black decals.

OH ok, that makes a lot more sense now, ya those strips are cleared over from Ford. I really thought you were talking about the rocker stripes, sorry about that. Well at least you wont have to paint the car now! :P

I think those remove with the same technique described with the hairdryer on a warm day.

Those are on there with fairly strong adhesive so I would go really slow. Its probably made by 3M if you want to give them a call and ask them what the best way to get that stuff off is.

They may not know the exact product or in ref to a mustang, but they will know how to get two glued objects apart without damaging the finish.

We have a 3M here in Springfield, here is that number. (417) 869-3501
Here is the Corp Number and website. http://solutions.3m.com/en_US/
1-888-364-3577

Hope they can help too, tell us what they tell you.
