Default rear end break-in process?

Okay, I searched but I couldn't really find anything on this... I dropped my car off at a local mechanic to have my 3.73s and tlock installed and I'm picking the car up today... is there a particular procedure for breaking in either the gears or tlock? Do I have to run them through a few heat cycles or just take it easy for a few hundred miles? Anybody?

And as a side note, I know the tlock sucks... but me driving in the PA winter (which hasn't been bad so far, surprisingly), I wanted something a little better than an open differential. I don't really beat on the car (I rarely go past 50% throttle, burnouts are a rarity, and when I take off, I do so from the lowest rpm possible), and I don't plan on pushing that much power (yeah, I say that now lol), so I figure I should be fine with a tlock.

500 miles... no hard launches, burn-outs, take it easy on the rear

So basically just take it easy... sounds pretty simple. I figured there might be something like there is with brakes where you're supposed to run it through different heat cycles.

Anyway, thanks

Your rear-end needs broken in? WTF??? Is that what you fellas up North do during the winter? Break each others rear end in? Somebody would get their teeth brushed if they approach my rear with "intentions" in mind. LOL!!!!! j/k

I admit it... I LOL'd

Anyway, thanks for your help guys... it just so happens that my house is about 15 miles away from the shop, so there's one heat cycle down... and taking it easy won't be hard for me... I rarely beat on my car. And the install got done just in time; I woke up today to a nice little snowstorm, and I just got the call that the guy finished up the car this morning, so woot for having (some) traction in the snow

I know you said some, but dont even try driving too much in the snow with 3.73s unless you really know what youre doing. I had to drive like a gma when the northwest had a snowstorm it sucked.

I'm a competent driver in the snow, trust me (this'll be my 4th year of driving in the PA winter)... I took my license test in 6" of snow and got a perfect score. But it's going to be second-gear starts for me as long as there's white stuff on the ground
