Default boost

Ok i was just wondering if anyone has supercharged and turbocharged they six before. I have my twin turbo kit but could get a m112 kit for around $500. I would like to make the supercharger cut out at a certain rpm and then the turbos would be effective.

will never do but just thinking bout it.

what he said.

anything is possible with enough time and money, if you are looking for more ways to power the car without suffering the cons of either style FI you may want to try something different.

It actually doesn't work like they try to make you believe when running turbo/positive displacement blowers.

Sure, the low end will be powered by the super charger sucking air through the turbos faster than they can spool.... but once the positive displacement hit's it's peak, it will be come a cork for the turbos. You can't use the turbos to force more air past a positive displacement blower than a PD blower will spin on it's own.

What you seem to be asking is having the PD blower cut out of the air flow at a certain point- which can't be done. It's belt driven, and has to be run into the manifold.

Where can you get an M112 kit for $500??? Just curious.

Couldnt you just fab a clutch like on the A/C? When it hits a certain RPM it will dissengage and the turbos will take over fully. I know its easier said than done but its a possibility.

but the blower is belt driven and how cant he air go from the turbos into the manifold without passing through the M112? So even if it "disengaged" how would the air bypass it?
