CAI
hey guys I just got a cold air intake from ford racing and I was wondering how exactly I can tell how much it is helping my car? I have just drove it on the highway and hit on it pretty hard it felt like it was faster but im not sure.
you have a 08? you NEED that tuned to get max performance from it. Almost every mod for the new styles need a tune. The 2005-up forum can prolly answer your questions better. This section is for 2001-04 sixers.
I almost fell off the couch when I saw that post lmao.
CAIs don't yield much power, even on Sn-197s, but in short, I'm gonna guestimate you gained 5 rwhp at best. As stated, yes a tuner will yield more power as the Sn-197s run fairly rich from the factor and the tuners do fix that along with properly adjusting the A/F for a CAI as the ECUs are really picky about air inflow.
I didn't know Ford Racing made CAIs, but in short, you didn't gain much for the money you spent. Get dual exhaust which will yield better gains if you're on a limited budget.
If you're serrious about performance, get a supercharger or turbo and be done with it.
