Default Steady Decrease in MPG

I've been noticing less and less miles that I can get to a tank. This last time I filled up, set the tripometer, and when the low fuel light came on I had went 190 miles.... WTF. I shift at about 1800 and rarely get on it. Any idea what it could be? it's not throwing any codes.

does the car seem to not respond as it used to? my car did that and it was the oil filter. check that and if its really bad have your fuel pump tested.

If your cats are clogged you will get decreased MPG. One way to tell if they are clogged is open your door/window and give your car a quick rev. If you here a series of slight pops than your cats are plugged.

Is the temp below freezing where you are? if so the ECU will command higher fuel injection on time to compensate for denser cold air induction. Which is normal if you have cold air & engine temps. Also short trips in winter means you are running rich for a lot longer after cold engine start.

If you live in Florida though , first change your air filter & check your tyre pressures, under inflated tyres will use more gas, also binding brakes, thicker engine oils, etc. Another possibility is a defective fuel pressure regulator or restricted fuel return line. High fuel pressure will cause more fuel to be sprayed into the engine, however the o2 sensors should trim the on time to account for this.

You only got 190 on a tank??????? I would think something is seriously not right. My car has a huge exhaust leak, check engine light is on and the codes says I'm running lean cause of bad O2 sensors.... but I'm still making 280 miles on a single tank.....

Ive had the same problem, changed the plugs and wires, fuel filter and maf. Its 10 times better now. I had a misfire so it was easy to tell.
