Default Check engine light

The check engine light came on today on my 2002 3.8. I was flipping threw the digital gauges and found that the oil preasure was at 000 but the guage was fine. No DTCs came up, and teh car sounds fine. So which guage do i beileve, the digital or the normal one. Also what could the problem be. There are 46,xxx miles on, could it be a head gasket problem, also should i drive it until i figure out what is wrong with it? No mods other than the K & N intake.

The digital guages work when you start the car? Every time I've tried on my 2000 it switches to the normal odometer.

Usually is what i do is i dont start the car till it have it in the diagnostic mode. Hold the trip/reset button until it comes up test and all your needles peg out. Then once i am where i want to be i start the car.
