Squeaky steering
Hey guys,
I know there are a few threads on here about squeaky steering, but I couldn't find anything that described my situation. I have a 2000 V6. Lately, whenever I turn my wheel either way when I am either at a standstill or moving fairly slowly, I hear a squeaky noise coming from under my car. It's not deafening, but it is very embarrassing when people are around. Also, at times right when I start the car and I pull out of my driveway, it feels like my steering wheel is rubbing on something when I turn it. I've checked my power steering fluid and it's fine. I don't know too much about fixing cars; I usually just ask my dad, but I live over 1000 miles away from him now. I've read that other people have had trouble with a few things such as the bushings, the ball joints, and the power steering pump. I was wondering if there is a way to check what the problem is? As a college student, I don't have too much money to waste on mechanics checking and fixing the wrong things.
