Been reading about these on the forums, I'm thinking of ordering this for my new V6. What can I expect with the 4.10 Gears?
http://www.mustangtuning.com/v6gears.html , is this what I'm looking for?
Also give me some ideas on installing, how long does it take, and do I need to pay to get installation?

Well, I was also thinkin of ordering 4.10s. I think they would really be worth it. As far as what to expect, you will have quicker acceleration and a lower top speed. Because the gears are smaller they cant handle speeds as high, but can rotate quicker, to give you the acceleration. I was also wondering about where to get them installed once i did order them. I dont really kno a place that would install gears, or how long it would take.

Now thinking rationally, I'm wondering if this would be a good idea, you mentioned the top speed thing, but my car (like most of ours) is my daily driver. Since the rotation would be so much quicker on higher speeds ,like on the parkway, maybe it wouldn't be such a great idea. Also my gas mileage.
Maybe the Predator chip would be a better idea?

1. it will cost more than $400. the gears will run $200, the posi will run around $250-$350, and the install should be done by someone who knows what they are doing.
2. the gears are the same size. they can take high speeds. i have 4.10s and cruise on the highway anywhere between 80-100 mph and still get over 20 mpg.
3. it will scare the **** out of you the difference they make. it is like a giant kick in the ***. short words, it is awesome.
4. don't waste money on a chip.

you can get the gears and posi for about 150 a piece (300 total)- shop around- ebay. buy genuine ford racing gears if you buy ebay though. and get an auburn posi to match. then get a pro to install and it is around 200 for the install...

You will need to correct your speedometer following the gear change. If your car is a 99+ and has an auto transmission, a flash tuner (Predator, Superchips, etc.) would be worthwhile. If it's a manual, a SpeedCal wil do the job.
