Default interior swap

I have the tan interior in my car but would like to switch it all over to black. I was also wanting to update the dash to the 01+ kind. Question is will it work wiring wise, i know there are some slight differences in locations.

You can get the seats, center console, and door panels from a junk yard. Some of the stuff like the dash, and rear panels, and carpet would be a pain in the butt. Also all of that would cost a lot of money after it is all said and done. I'd save the money and time to do some more performance mods if I were you. Why switch to black? Given your current color I think black wouldn't go as good, but whatever floats your boat.

I am going for a black and green. I can't stand the tan and i will be most likely be switching to cloth seats. I am going to be attempting a never before seen mod(at least by me) to the interior, I will post that when i am done.

All interior panels are easy, except for the dash, which can be dyed.

i was really hopping to get the 01+ dash or do u think i should just dye? I was going to swap that over at the same time as the engine swap so the down time is the same. What dye should i use so i can replace everything else.

Swapping the dash is a true PITA, it takes a ton of work to get it out without damaging the wiring harness. If you can disconnect the main terminal at the firewall, you can remove it as a unit and swap everything over in your living room, but it's definately not easy. I wouldn't do it without have at least 3 full days to devote to it.

The dash jsut isn;t designed to come completely out, it can be moved and pulled away from the firewall a bit to work ont he a/c plenum and stuff, but beyond that, it's a lot of work.

I just went and grabbed my "2002 FORD MUSTANG WORKSHOP MANUAL, VOLUME II," the actual dealer repair manual to look at it again. It's been a while since I've done it and I did it before i had all the Ford books. Order the Manuals, volume I and II, then order the Specifiaction book and wiring diagram book.

After looking at the manual, I think it's possible to do it one day if you really get to it and make sure not to skip a step. You will definately bleed since it seems that all dash boards are supported byt a metal framework of Ginsu knives that slice through almost any glove ever made.
