Question v6 headers

I have an 08 Mustang v6 and I am looking for new headers. I do not know the difference in long tube and shorty headers. What do yall think I should get? If you could please tell me the difference between the two and what you suggest.
PS---If this should not be posted in the v6 general tech section please direct me to the section it should be posted in.
Thanks

don't know what they offer on the newer V6's cz technically your in the wrong section, but longtubes flow way better than the stock ones on our 3.8's and just sound amazing.

************** I just copy and pasted this from an older post I did about a month ago for pretty much the same question *******************

This is mostly 3.8 guys in this section. I would say go the s197 section, but well.. it's the s197 section... lol.

Seriously, about the headers, don't get shorty headers. Chances are they are hardly any better than your stock ones. Kooks makes some longtube headers that will add some power and make it sound a little better.

Mac makes some too....

And so does Stainless Works....

Here's a vid of a 4.0 with longtube headers. They sound like poo to me, but that's probably because of the the muffler choices, not the headers. And the 4.0s "buzz" a little more since they are sohc.

The 3.8 sounds a bit better. This is essentially the exact same setup I have with LTs.

As for installation... I dunno about that, you might have to raise the engine some, but not that much... I'm betting not tho. The longtubes on my car weren't that hard to install.... took about 3-4 hours max. Anyways, good luck!
