I noticed the difference on mine immediately. Along with ridding the car of 11-12lbs of rotational mass which is a plus, it also made the driveline feel crisper, more direct and responsive. I equate it to the SOTP feeling I noticed when I upgraded the ignition. Although it didn't provide gobs of power, it transformed a car that was running damn near perfect into one that felt like it had had a some kind of super tune up or something. An aluminum D/S is a worthy mod especially if you plan on making more power down the road...
I don't think it matters if its auto or not. It goes between the tranny and the rear end which is the same on all mustangs. All that matters I guess is getting one for your year/generation.

Why would the transmission type have any impact on the drive shaft needed? It is all about the length between the transmission and the rear end. A drive shaft doesn't know and doesn't care if it is attached to an auto or manual.
