if you think about the total cost it normally ends up costing you more...
think of like how much you got your car for + the 2-2.5k or how much you can sell you car for compared to the price you can get a GT for and if thats less that 2-2.5k it is cheaper

if i got my car for 6k + 2k for the engine swap thats 8k total but if I can get a GT for 7.5k its cheaper
or if i sell my car for 5k and can go buy a GT for like 6.5k its cheaper

since you are doing it though... do wait to buy your springs

People say "get a GT" because there is more in a car than just the engine.... 8.8 locking rear differential, rear sway bar, better interior (most of the time), better wheels, stock h-pipe, etc. Also when you go to sell an actual GT, you'll get a few more grand ($) for it than a stock v6. In fact, putting a 4.6 in a 3.8 could hurt the value, cause insurance problems if you get in a crash, and so on.

ALSO, wasting that much time to put a POS 2 valve 4.6 is stupid. If you want a real v8 Mustang, get the 4 valve or forget about it. That's the only way you'll stand a chance against the almighty el es juan or any 4 cyl who thinks they are hell on wheels just because they are running 20 psi of boost or a 150 shot.

Do a supercharger or turbo and upgrade the rear end on the 3.8, you'll get more bang for your buck and you'll be unique.

Great info...I'm thinking about getting lowering springs for my V6.
