need help with brakes quick!
So bleed them completly then just put new stuff in. but if I close the bleeders then put there will be still be air in the lines right? And if I let some come out then close the bleeder I am where I am right now.
Get someone to sit in the car. Open the bleeder on one caliper, get said person to pump the brakes (to the floor a couple times, then hold brake pedal all the way in, then repeat) until fluid comes out constantly. Replace bleeder. You can do this for all the calipers but you dont have to since you just removed the bleeder on one caliper. Dont forget to add brake fluid after and dont spill cause it will eat away at the paint.
Alright I'll give that a shot tomorrow after school. Thanks for the help guy. Any other tips/tricks for putting the new brake pads in because I just couldn't get the calipers over the new ones. I tries the c clamp think on the new brake pads and that didn't work, and I tried it on the piston, maybe I was doing it wrong or didn't tighten them enough.
You dont use the new pads to compress the piston.. use one of the old pads. They should compress rather easy. Your caliper might be seizing up. How many miles are on your car?

95k. And I didn't use a pad to compress the piston just used the c clamp. Could I have damaged the piston? I'm getting 17's soon so maybe I should just get the cobra brake upgrade and be done with it. I have a car I can drive till then.
Okay so I got the new brake pads on and put everything back on after I bleeded my brake lines. I had my friend pump the brakes a few times the had him hold the pedal all the way to the floor and I opened the bleeder and when it almost stopped running i closed it back up then he let off the pedal. Did it 3 times, topped off the brake fluid, put the tires back on. Went to back out of the drive way and still pretty much no brake pedal pressure. It goes all the way to the floor and takes me a few seconds to stop from like 3 mph. Did I do something wrong or what else could it be? Thanks for all the help guys.
u have to open the bleeder all the way for it to let out all the air at once and you have to pump it i say 10 times and have them hold it on the 11th. Start in the rear and work forward. If nothing changes you have broken something
okay well hopefully I didn't break anything. So pump the brakes 10 times, hold on 11, open bleeder, let it all drain till nothing comes out, tighten back up, and let go of brakes. Should I repeat it? And thanks man.
