im not trying to sound like a jerk but is it really true that adding a cai and dual exhaust only add 2 mpg at best?

I don't know of any mods that you can gain 5mpg with, but deffinaly not with a cai and exaust.

Best fuel control is the right foot, if you had a 5 speed you can mess around some with shift points and coasting to save some more, but that isn't really practical with an auto.

Mustang v6's simply suck for fuel economy, you'll just have to get used to it. My 98v6auto is only rated 2mpg better than a 2010 GT500, with nearly 4x the hp

Ummm...........98 V6s were rated at 28mph, and I got all that and some with my old 98, I can gurantee you that the new GT-500 doesn't get 26, hell, it probably struggles to hit 24 on a good day.
