Engine Advice
Ok my car has 102000 miles on it. But it's never given me any problems. Pretty much it's never left me anywhere. It always starts. No motor problems. I'm complete satisfied with it. But with it having such high mileage I need to know if I should start expecting some of these problems. Which brings me to my advice part. I'm about to get some money from a car accident I got into. With it I'm wanting to really beef up my car. My first thought was turbo, but with that mileage I don't see the motor holding on for long until gaskets start blowing and mayhem. So then I began to look at h/c/i(both upper and lower intakes) swaps and possibly pistons. If I was to swap all of this with all the gaskets and rings and things that I have to change I really wouldn't have to worry about motor problems in the future right? I mean it's almost like completely rebuilding the motor isn't it? Also, I've only really looked at RPM for the stuff, is there anywhere else that has the same kind of packages and things? And where can I find pistons, possibly domed? Along with the h/c/i (and possibly pistons) I also want to put an UDP, T-Lok, 3.73's, SCT Chip(is this the appropriate chip for what I want to do?),and 18" Saleens. I also plan on upgrading the braking system during all tese work. Could anyone speculate what my car approxiamately would be putting out. There's this jerk where I'm from that drives his girlfriends 2001 GT and he always rags my V6. I just want to be able to hang with him. Just to see his face. Also can anyone think of anything else I could do to really boost up my car. I'm hoping to come into almost 10,000 dollars. And my cousin is going to be the one installing all the motor parts so installation will probably be keep the beer supply full. And I've also thought about the GT route but building my lil'v6 to run with GT's would be soo much better. I want a very respectable car. Thanks alot for your comments. Scoot
Come on guys I really need some advice. I was also thinking of the GT route like I said earlier but I don't think 10K will be enough for a GT. I would only want a 99-04 GT nothing older. But, I was also thinking of maybe just trying to find a 4.6 motor, computer, and harnesses. Does anyone know about what that would run price wise? My cousin that was doing the other stuff can put it in for me. Does anywhere sell an entire kit? I've nver looked into it. Thanks for any replies. I'm in desperate need of help. Scoot
no need to buy a GT. get your heads P&P along with your intake manifold and that will free up alot of power. then get a good cam. you could also go to www.rdmotorsport.com and get a 4.2 stroker kit. at www.tmaturbo.com there is an affordable turbo kit that can use your stock fuel system if you don't up the boost. with that you will kill GTs, even bolt-on GTs.
the numbers in my sig are NA to the crank. that is more than a GT and i have simple bolt-ons and P&P heads and intake
