Default Shocks

Hey, would shocks for an 87-93 work on my 01 (they are a good $50 cheaper each). I heard they'd work fine, but I wanted to double check. Any help would be great. Thanx!

I don't believe so, I believe the only Sn-95 models that are compatable with anything 87-93 are the 94/95 5.0s, and even those compatabilities are vauge and require back modding.

OK, just did quick look up, it depends on the brand, some are 94-04 specific, others are 87-04 universal.

Well they are all a fox body platform(79-04) but Im thinking that you may need to do some tweaking to get them to fit.

They will work, depending on the actual shock you may need to make some modification though.

independent rear suspension

Just get 99-04 shocks/struts for a non-irs car and be done with it... it may cost more, but you won't have to rig something together.

^True that... Why waste time and money having to do custom work when you could just buy the correct set of shocks/struts and be done with it.

Money wasn't my only reason. I also heard that the fox body shocks/stuts have about 1" more tavel before you reach the bump stops which would be beneficial when I lower my car. Either way, I'll prolly just save up for the ones for my year. Thanks yall.
