Default '94 v6 for $350, should I do it?

Car has many problems. Exterior is all there, poor condition. Was rattle canned, front bumper cover is busted. Interior all there minus radio, fair condition. Motor has only ran twice since current owner (good friend) has bought it. smoked (white) and missed badly. Now, cant get it to fire, sounds like a loss of compression. Former owner says he did the headgaskets, I think he missed the torque sequence.

Horrible right?

Well, there is some good. Car is a stick, has true dual exhaust with flowmasters (fairly new), All power options work, and somebody did a custom aftermarket sunroof that actually looks really good and functions well.

So, I could get my hands on it, strip out the motor and go with a drop out from a supercoupe, flash the ecm, and get the exterior reworked and probably come away with a solid, quick, dependable sixer for ~$3500.

Whatcha think?

Well for $350 you could part it out and make a fair amount off of it.

Just scrapping the cats and aluminum off the engine will recoup most of that price.

Paint is going to cost you though, most paint shops start around $3000, I know because my 95' in my sig had the white paint start falling off in huge sections.... Wax the damn thing twice a month for years and 1 summer comes by and half of the paint on the damn car falls off >:[ F*CK YOU FORD :P

Anyways for that kind of price you could scrap the project at any time and get your money back as long as you havnt invested too much into it.

If that was in my state I'd go buy it today. But then again I part cars out all the time =]. From the cats in my state you'll get around $40-$50 a piece. You could probably make a good $1k profit parting that one out.

Oh and if you wanna fix it up engines are cheap and you can get a decent paint job from someone who is respectable on craigslist....

Its worth that if you scrapped it out. I would buy that car and pull the engine and tranny and find a good 5.0 or 5.8 and drop it down in there. I have a 95 w/o a motor and I found a complete 351w on ebay for 100 dollars that I'm going to bolt right up. All I have left to do is buy an intake/carb and it'll drop right down in.

well, I decided not to do it. I found a '92 F150 with the 5.0 that runs perfect and has minimal body damage. Everything works except the shifter (auto). Somebody decided to try and fix it, instead, they broke/lost some of the linkage and cut the damn cable. Now I have to get under the truck to shift it.

Got it for $800 THO!

Me thinks you don't know what you're talking about. It won't just "bolt up"

Me knos what I is talking about. It's a pretty simple swap. That is to just get it in there and get it running.
