same thing happened to me about two years ago... had to buy a new alternator.

When I tested the Alt on the car a few days ago, it said it was good, even with a load or drain test or whatever you call it. I took it to work today and tested it... and it only put out 10-ish volts So there goes 150 bucks

So to anyone who reads this, if you have an alternator die on you, check the brushes, or get them checked. Costs about $10 to fix ($40 if you get a whole new voltage regulator) and keeps you from buying a whole new alt.

Did the trick on mine and saved some money...

Just thought I'd attempt to help someone in the near future...
