That would be the front driver side o2 sensor which is easy to replace(7/8's if I remember correctly). The passenger one, you will need the special socket(there's just noway to get in there), it's like 10 bucks and well worth it(or rent the kit like i did from kragen, and return for full refund). You will need to remove the passenger tire and remove the o2 sensor through the suspension parts(through the a arm, you will see what I mean if you change both sides, which is recommended). The other 2 after the cats don't normally go out, it's the front two. GL

Also, always disconnect the negative side of the battery when working on electronic parts, it will also clear the code.

I replaced the sensor and the car is still running rich and the check engine light came back on. It hesitates when I start out then it drives ok.

Are you getting a flashing check engine light?

Um.... Bank one is passenger side. Bank 1 is always the side where Cylinder 1 is, on Ford V's it is always Passenger or Right side.

Now that I think about it, I am WRONG, it is on the passenger side, MY BAD, you will need the tool for that side. I just did the wires awhile back and I remember the #1 cylinder IS in the front passenger, swap over the sensor to the other side. I would of changed both of them, but sometimes money is tough to come by, rough economy these days, or you are just CHEAP like my brother.

Not cheap, money is just short. Hopefully by swaping it the car will run better. Thanks!

Yes, hopefully, it sucks tracing down problems. I wish you luck.

Why would you change something that isn't broken? Just because one sensor has failed doesn't mean the other is anywhere near failing. Replacing both at the same time is total waste of money.
