3.8 to 4.6 engine swap
hey everyone, i am new to the forum, and would first off like to let everyone know how much i appriciate this forum, and all the wisdom and advise it offers.
now on the my question, i have a 1995 mustang v6 (3.8) and my dad found a 97 mercury crown vic. with the 4.6 v8 in it, and i was wondering how feasable/espensive it would be to do a motor swap? the crown vic was\ crashed, but the engine still runs smooth and tranny shifts clean. It was an elderly man's car, so it was well taken care of. If anybody has any insite on this project, i would love to hear back about it. Oh, and i can get the crown vic. for $300, so that is a major incentive, since i am only 17 :P Thanks for the Help, Tim.

you can find a 4.2 out of an f/e-150 for that price and have more power then an NPI 4.6. if you want a 4.6 look for the mark VIII or whatever with the 4V DOHC, not to mention everything else will need to be upgraded from a 96-98 GT cauase 95 was a 5.0 V8, you will be into it for atleast $1500 by the time its all said and done
