Is a boost gauge only good for super an turbo chargers or does it work for nitrous also?

+1. Boost is a measure positive absolute manifold pressure (opposite of vacuum). Nitrous doesn't compress the air to create higher pressure.

Now a wideband gauge may be useful for seeing the air/fuel ratio under spray, but not otherwise neither.
