Hey I have a 99 V6. The engine is pretty beat up. I am thinking of replacing the engine but if I put the money into replacing the engine I would want to replace it with a V8. I was wondering if there is any modifications I would need to do to the engine compartment or anything? I know I would need to replace the computer with one compatible to the V8.

Any suggestions?
If you're willing to spend that kind of money to do an engine swap, you might as well sell the car and get another New Edge GT.
Alternatively, if you're looking for V8 power, you could turbo/sc the car for under $4000.
Do a quick search, and you'll see what a big mistake it is to do that swap.
For under $600, you can swap in a low milage stock motor.
It doesn't have to really be low mileage IF he wants performance out of the car. Get a junkyard engine, take the old one out, put the junkyard engine in. Upgrade the original motor to a forged 4.3 L with ported heads, intakes, and get a cam. Then get a supercharger/turbo of some sort, swap in original (built) engine = around 400 rwhp. That sounds like alot (and is), but this way you could slowly build the original engine for a year or so as you find the time/get the money. Then save up for the power adder. The only thing is if you wanna stay naturally aspirated you need to decide before you build the engine because there are different cam choices, how much the heads should be ported, and a specific compression ratio.
