Billet Shift - Small gap?

Question Billet Shift - Small gap?

Bought a billet shifter **** from american muscle, but there is a small gap when tightened all the way. What am I doing wrong?

I am able to bull the boot up to meet the bottom of the shifter ****, but not sure if it will stay. I guess that's the best I can do?

that's about the best it's going to get. my steeda shifter **** does the same thing.

No, not exactly. If you really want it to go all the way, find out your thread pattern and take it to a machine shop and have them cut the threads deeper into the ****. (obviously make sure you have enough left so you don't cut through the top)
