Question Whats the best power modification for a v6 ?

I have a 1997 3.8L v6 5 speed
I have a cold air intake and short throw shifter
I want to make my car have more power i realize it wont be like a v8 but i want it to have more power
What upgrades would give me more power besides a supercharger or turbo
Do chips help with power if so what kind is best?
Just let me know what is the best power upgrades without having to supercharge or turbo my car

Thanks Nick

i've found that one of the best upgrades i did to my v6 was a SCT Custom tune. American muscle gives you free tunes when you buy it so if you bought another mustang you could still use the same tuner, just download a new tune

Common mods are cai(which u already have), true dual exhaust, underdrive pulley, and gears. Getn deeper would be to do a ported and polished split port swap with a cam. But it would help more to know ur budget.

+1 on a split port swap, and while you're at it, might as well buy a ported split port setup, or port it yourself/have a shop port it for extra power.

Split-port swap. P&P Lower, and Windstar upper.

If I can find a way to get these 2 engines to my house tomorrow I will resume development of the windstar upper kit. I have 6 windstar intakes now, and I'll have a 99-00 engine and an 01-04 engine to mock the up on.

2 questions...

1)link to a split port swap? Got a '96 v6 project car
2) Ryan, what do you have to do to keep a stock hood with the windstar upper?
