Default Beginner Mod

Hi,

I am completely new to the whole modding scene. I know a small bit about cars, but nothing to be impressed about. I recently was talked into begin modding my 04 v6 mustang. I was wondering what my first mod should be. I would like a boost in performance and possibly have it sound a little better. But I mainly shoot for performance over sheer sounds.

Anyways, if anyone could give me a clue as to what would be an easy yet good first mod for me that would be great.

Thanks

I dont think I can afford a new exhaust system just yet, but I can probably fit in some money for a CAI. I'm assuming everyone/most recommend a K&N CAI system?

ebay CAI. cheap, same as a MAC and will give you pretty much the same gains as any other CAI.

if you can barely afford an intake, maybe you should hold off on modding and save a bit and get some gears & true duals.

I would suggest the K&N FlipK gen 2 kit its the best you can get. I got mine for under 200 on ebay with shipping best gains.i got my true duals flowmaster 40's for 600 installed . do ur whole exhaust first get the most gain for cheaper.and everything.

Aww, no. Just go with an Ebay CAI. I reccommend one by BOMZ Racing. A few people on ebay have those. That's what my first mod has been (as I am very short on cash like you) and I really did notice a difference. My car drives a hell of a lot smoother (especially when it's HORRIBLY hot) and the gas mileage is definitely noticeable for me. I don't use as much gas now.

You can hear it "whooshing" (for lack of a better term, lol) sometimes too... bringing in that cold air and such.

It was SO simple to do, and I'm a girl who doesn't know a lot about cars myself.
