i was wondering what all does it take to gut the cats and not have the 02 sensor go crazy on me?

Nothing. If you gut the cats, you need to delete the O2 sensor from your computer, or install MILs to avoid a check engine light.

Why are you gutting the cats anyway? It will cost you power, and it's not a fun ticket in Texas.

always thought cats obstructed exhaust flow, figured getting rid of them freed up the exhaust a bit

On a V6, you need some of the back pressure. No cats on a stock or mildly modded motor will cost you power.

Not worth it at all, not worth the ticket either. Its a federal law, not just state to have cats.

There are better ways to get a less restrictive exhaust and stay legal.

Good luck.
