Default header flange bolt broken

ok so when i pulled the head for the car, i need to take the stock headers off. i hook my impact up to the first bolt, and it breaks, same with the other side. now i have two bolts that i can't get to at all, but i know they are gonna break, so im gonna cut them from the top with my sawzall.

how hard is it gonna be to drill out the 2 studs on each header, so that i can just throw a galvanized bolt to hold the header to the downpipes?

or is there an easier way to take the stud off?

WHY would you take an impact gun to something like that? The ONLY thing YOU should be taking a impact gun to is a lug nut.

Maybe not the ONLY thing, but header bolts shouldn't need an impact.Did you actually try and take off the nut or the stud itself?

I can;t believe you cut the broken studs off, you could have used vise grips to get them out. Just have the machine shop do it.

i fixed them in 5 mins. i took the cutoff wheel to the studs, and drilled the bolt out.

Those bolts sould be pressed in like wheel studs, so you should be able to just knock them out.

no i drlled the threads out. im just gonna run a regular galvanized 3/8" bolt with lock washers, to prevent them from ever getting rotted together again.
