Default Rear Seat Delete

Im going to start on my rear seat delete tomorrow. Should I extend the back part all the way to the floor pan? Im puttin a sub in this part as well, with the amp being put on the lower part.

Does anyone have pics or a write up of how to make your own rear seat delete?

Would 1/2" MDF be too heavy for this? Or should I just get plywood? Ill be using MDF for the sub box tho.

That'd be nice to see. I'm getting ready to do my own custom rear on my '04 too. I'd go for light weight particle board or something similar. I heard plywood ends up warping.

Go to a sign shop and get that corrugated plastic that they use to make the home for sale signs and stuff. It's cheap and the lightest thing you'll be able to get.

If you want something rigid enough to set some stuff on, just use 1/4" MDF. 1/2" will be heavier than if you had the seat in there.

Get some cardboard to make you template, the rear of the lower section has a big curve to it and it's a bit of a PITA to get just right.

I cant get 1/4" MDF where I live, only 1/2". I dont really care if itll be heavier than the actual seat, I just dont want the option of having a backseat.

What should I do about the mounts for the seat backs?

If you're making a rear seat delete that could weigh more than the rear seats then why are you doing this???????

I dont like having people sit in the back. This way I wont have to drive with more than 1 person. And it was going to be heavier than the actual seat from the beginning because Im putting a subwoofer in the back part of the delete.
