Default max compression with 8 PSI

this might sound weird but i want to know if a 4.2 forged stroker with 10:1 compression could run 8-10 PSI with an intercooler. i don't like big boost, it facks **** up.

way to much compression i a have a super coupe and that has 8.2 to one compression and it is putting out about 14 to 15 psi.The shop that i went to said a good rule of thumb is to take 1 pound compression away for the engine for every 5 pounds of boost. i know that is not true for every application but he said for the engines us common foke are building it is a pretty good guide line to stick with.

Just my 2 cents

well justin at VMP ran 17psi on stock 99+ pistons with 100 octane gas.

the key is the tune. no detonation no problems. forged 9.0:1 will handle 20psi just ask Dan Haga. 9:1 20psi gave him 400+rwhp with his vortech.

big boost doesn't screw things up. an improper tune at high boost screws things up

7 psi and a bad tune will wreck just about any engine before long.

don't fear boost. it is your friend when tuned properly. buicks run about 7.5-8.5:1 at 25psi+

That's a good point. We always forget about the Grand National. Those things run big booston in that 3.8lt. engine.

www.moranav6racing.com

also i believe www.rpm-mustangs.com has them

a 4.2 truck block girdle may work as well but i'm not positive
