Default New rear end

What all is involved in the swapping of two fully assembled rear ends? I'm getting a new 7.5 rear end with a t-lok and 4.10's with axles and brakes still with it. How should I go about doing the swap? Is it simple and just unbolting the old one and bolting the new one? BTW, stuck with the 7.5 cause I'm getting it all for $200...

Thanks

Yeah it's simple really. I'll be doing the same with an 8.8. Unbolt everything off your old rear rebolt in the new one. Have a buddy to help you.

You'll have to disconnect the driveshaft, upper/lower control arms, take out the springs, disconnect the brake lines, take off the rear sway bar, and disconnect the shocks.

You can probably knock it out in an hour or so.

Eh I think for the first time, if it is, it will take more than an hour especially if you have never removed shocks or struts before.

V6's didnt come with a rear sway bar. Since you arent upgrading the brakes, it will be easier and faster to just leave your brake lines connected so you dont have to bleed them later. Just make sure you tie them up so they dont hang by the lines.

Yeah you don't have to disconnect the brake lines but if you do bleeding them ist that hard or time consuming.

Removing the shocks is easy. You just need to undo the bottom bolt, no need to remove the whole shock.

+1 to just remove the calipers and tie them up so they dont hang.

Yeah true that, I forgot. I was thinking about when I did my shocks and struts, and it took me close to 4 hours start to finish. Ryans sticky helped alot. First time for everything.

Well I didn't have the right tools on hand or air tools. I was just taking it slow to make sure I didn't screw anything up. Idk if you meant that towards me or the rear swap lol.
