HotRods - if you plan to lower your car whatsoever, forget side exhaust. Also, you'r flowmaster 40s cannot be used on a side exhaust system. You have two openings on one side, and one on the other, right? The two on the one side are BOTH inputs, so if you close off the output and plan to use one of the inputs as an output, you'll have A LOT of back pressure and a bad sounding exhaust. On my side exhaust, I used Flo-Pro like matthockey mentioned earlier. They make a great, low-cost muffler with inlet/outlet on the same side like you'd need, and it sounds great.

But yeah, I haven't lowered my car a bit, and I bottom out ever so often. The guy fabbed my exhaust system as high as physically possible, but side exhaust systems are just inherantly lower than traditional exhaust. Lowering your car 2" would be a death sentence for your mufflers and maybe the tips, if they're very tall, on side exhaust.

i have 3 inch round tips on my side exhaust and i don't bottom out. i am careful over speed bumps but i can lower my car 1 inch and still have good clearance.

Ya, I know all that. My Muff guy said Flowmaster makes a 40 series with input/output on the same side., they just don't list it for some reason. Also, because I have a vert, I have factory sub frame connectors that add 2" to how far the piped drop. I may have to get rid of my SFC's and just depend on a STB and front and rear sway bars for less roll, but I'm not sure if I want to take off my SFC just yet. I was told I can customize the SFC to just be a little shorter, but I haven't found any solid info yet.
But if I go with a side exhaust, it will be a custom Flowmaster set up for sure.

Hey Matt, how about a pic of your exhaust? I'd love to see it so I can get some ideas.

Can you go to a site for your phone to see the pics? I know my Sprint service has a site I can go to and share my phone pics.

On my Cingular, pics aren't on a website. However, you can e-mail them for something like $0.40 a piece. So you could just e-mail to yourself (from your phone) download the pics from your e-mail to your computer, and them upload them to this site. Not real easy, but do-able! Also, if your phone came with a cable, you can transfer the pics straight to your computer for free, and it's a lot easier. I have the Nokia 6620, and it came with a USB cable.

Anyways, good luck!
