Default ford nine inch rear

i have a opportunity top get a ford 9" for $200. its from a 78 ford truck with 3.50 gears does anyone know how wide that would be? to short? to wide? i want to get that into my mustang if it's the right width but i can't seem to find any info on it.

haha well so much for that idea the 78 ford truck 9" is a massive 65inches flange to flange. the flanges would sit where the outside of my tires are now lol. ok to wide

You know you can shorten the axle tubes and then get the right length axles, right?

yes on certain ones but some ford 9"s have a special tapered axle tubes, and then require custom made axles. that would be out of my price range.

yea f all that work just pick a 9 inch of that list that will fit. why not go with an 8.8 though?

cause the guy was selling the entire 9" for 200 you don't see those kind of deals EVER! i was hoping it would work but guess it just wasnt in the cards.
