Of course, that's why I wrote in "officially". I had an aftermarket catted H-pipe and catback installed at a muffler shop for about $100 (worth it in my opinion since there have never been any SES or MIL issues), but was informed beforehand by the owner that it was officially against federal law to remove properly working catalytic converters from a vehicle even if replacing them with new cats. True, but now there are a pair of high-flow cats where there used to be four restricive ones, must have been some kind of magic that happened.
