IDK about all the other Advances, but I have a new one on my car and its working fine, but the Remans seem to come back WAYYY too often. Even though it says Lifetime warranty, unless the store manager is nice, after its been replaced once, you only have a 3 month period after that

there is also the possibility that the light it self is bad... well not the light but the "trigger" if you can even call it that. the light is determined on or off just by a resistor in the power line to the light.

Explain? from my small amount of experience that wouldn't make any difference unless it was actually causing a complete path for current.

Unless you mean the voltage regulator being bad? And to the OP, take the voltage regulator off the back and check the brushes. I had a similar problem before, but it seemed to only be at higher RPM. same with bad diodes

Is the voltage regulator built right into the alternator? Thanks
