Default what all is needed...

I am building an 86 vert as my new street strip project.. came stock with 3.8 liters of fury, and the 0-60 in 2 weeks just wont cut it while building my other motor...

i have located the upper half of a supercoupe... heads, intake, blower, etc...

im wondering if the 3.8 i have is the same as this one, and what all i would need to do to turn the turd into somethin with at least a little *** lol

my main concern is that I bolt it all on, and end up blowing the motor before my built motor is ready and the car just sits..

other than gaskets, belt, all the other little things is there anything major I am forgetting?

also, is there a way on the 3.8 to delete AC?

thanks in advance MF

KB

edit: all i can find while searching anywhere is people trying to do them on sn95 or new edge v6's... also, if i am reading right, there is no major difference between the shortblock from my 86 to the shortblock of a supercoupe... unless I am not searching right

The supercoupe has forged internals and i believe the block is made differently.

not wasting my time on a 302

im not worried about the internals, as I wouldnt be pushing max boost out of it...

just wantin a little more pep outta the sixxer when I do drive it...

a little story on where its coming from... a close friend picked up a supercoupe CHEAP and it ended up needing some machine work done, and finding pistons for that motor after it was bored where almost $800 so he told the machine shop to trash the block... and since now the car is an 8 second full blown drag car, he doesnt have the need for the motor parts he still has
