Default CAI

Im looking to get a cai and a tuner. Im just a little nervous about getting a cai because i read that getting water in it will ruin the engine. Is this a legitimate concern or am i just getting nervous about something stupid?

the only way for that to happen would be to drive into a 3 foot puddle, with the 4.0 the cai and tuner combo REALLY does wonders for the car, and there really is no downside to it either.

also for more 4.0 specific questions there's a 4.0 section in the S197 forums.

Don't be nervous. Don't drive through rivers and you'll be good. A cai/tuner combo should really help wake up your 4.0 from what I've heard.

Thanks for the info. Im looking to get a JLT cai with an SCT tune. I was wondering what one of the better sites were where I could buy a tune from? I know American Muscle has free tunes but I would assume they arent that good. Any thoughts?

I think breenspeed and bamatunes are very popular for the 4.0. Don't buy a canned tune from AM it won't be as good as the cai/tuner combo through breenspeed or bama.

All I've heard from buddies with the 4.0 and the 05 and up 4.6 is BAMAtunes FTW. Like Shaun said do not settle for a canned tuned from AM.

Yeah I need to get a custom tune soon too. Think I'm going to order the VAP intake spacer and get a custom tune as well.

I was thinking about getting an intake spacer but i read on the forums that they dont do anything and are basically just an expensive paperweight.
