Default screeching continues...help

Hey guys,

I have a 1998 ford mustang v6. I've been hearing a screeching when i turn the car and sometimes it keeps going when i'm idle and just riding my car. At first I thought it was the belt and I changed it. That didn't work. I then i thought it was the water pump. I changed that. It didn't work either. I keep hearing a screeching on and off. Some people say it could be the crankshaft but don't know. Anybody know what it could be?

Am i guessing the Power steering pump? Ford is know for a Loud and noisy and also aggravating power steering pump. I am guessing the only way to solve this is buying a brand-new pump. Buying rebuild you will still get the same noise. I have been told that ford relies a lot on hydraulics so that is why it makes that noise. Mine is almost loud as my exhaust lol.

Before you buy anything else...

Does it squeal more when its cold, like when you first fire it up? when it hot/cold at idle?

Try taking the belt off and seeing if it still squeals...

I'm not sure about the older 3.8s, but mine and a couple other guys around here had that problem with the Cam Syncro started to wear out, and it will still squeak with the belt of if its this...

well, I noticed it's when it gets cold. It's not the power steering pump. I know that much. But I hear it like below or around the area of the water pump and it's new. some people think it's the crankshaft pulley. Don't know what to do.
