Along with getting the tuner, you may want to install a cold air intake.

Yeah for $70, it will only help. Or throw a K&N air filter on there and remove the silencer to have a cheap home-made cai since your on a budget. Either way is good for a couple hp.

One question about the homemade cai. The silencer your talking about is that the plastic cover over the intake?

Nope, its actually the rubber piece that runs like a snorkel into the fenderwell. Pull the intake out up there and you'll see what I mean.
