Default Noise when accelerating

Hi, I am new, been have lurked for a while. Drove my 2001 V6 to work today and noticed a slapping sound. It is pretty consistent as soon as I hit the gas I can hear it, even if only going 10-15 miles an hour, but coasting there is no sound. It only happens when acelerating and it wasn't happening yesterday. Almost sounds like a frayed belt, or similar to what a tread tear on a tire, it isn't really loud but is loud enough I can hear it through the dash. It stops as soon as I take my foot off the accelerator, doesn't happen when in idle or breaking. Any ideas? My commute is just over an hour so I am wondering if I need to get this checked before I drive home later today, or if I can take it to my norrmal garage. Thanks all!

Default took out to test it

So I went for a quick drive to test it. I did a quick check no body pieces are loose, popped hood and couldn't see anything obvious. I drove it a few blocks and same odd slapping time sound, but not when coasting or idling. I also decided to accelerate and while accelerating (hearing the noise) pop it into nuetral and keep accelerator down, oddly the noise stopped. So now I am totally confused. It only happens when the accelerated is down and the car is in drive.

Anyone got an idea?
