Default wiper motor issue?

Quick question for you guys..

For the last year or two, i have not been able to use the interval setting on my wipers. If I do, the wipers just stop in the middle of the windshield and dont work. I have to actually use the normal low setting for them to work. Also when I turn off the wipers, they just stop wherever they are when I turn them off. They do not return to the bottom like normal.

Every now and then, they decide to work properly, however a day later or so, they go back to flaking out.

Question is, does this sound like a wiper motor issue, or could it possibly be something with the computer?

Any ideas on this are greatly appreciated.

Sounds like an issue with the multifunction switch

Are those overly difficult to replace?

Kind of a pain, but not too bad, about a half hour.
