One-wheel burnout?
Today I peeled out in my mustang. I thought the V6's had an open differential so only one wheel gets power - so only one skid mark. I peeled out in the dirt and there were skid marks for both tires. What happened?
I had the same thing happen to my car in the dirt. When I accidentaly spun my tires in the dirt, both wheels spun, but when I did a burnout on the road I only had the right rear spin. What is the cause of this? I mean I know why only the one wheel spins I'm not that dumb but why is it differn't in the dirt?

Well the left wheel does get some power, so when you try to do a burnout on pavement the right side spins good and the left side struggles and hardly spins at all. So since the dirt has lower traction the other wheel was able to spin easier. Get a limited slip differential or you'll end up burning the spider gears out and shortening the life of your rear end.
If you end up doing that, you'll have better handling, and you can do some kickass burnouts...

Right now I'm not really looking to upgrade my car anymore. I am looking to get a 99-04 GT. But if nothing good shows up soon, the rear end is going to be the next thing I upgrade on the car. Thanks for your help!

Yeah t-lock and limited slip are the same.
If your not going to upgrade anymore, take it easy on the burnouts. They're fun, but they may end up costing you if you do them all the time.
Also, for anyone who is interested...if your planning on installing a t-lock and gears in the future, maybe just consider doing an 8.8 rear end swap. If you plan on putting a lot of power in your stang, the 7.5 won't be able to handle it. The rear end will cost you about $500 from a junkyard, and if you might be able to do it yourself if you know enough about cars. Also get yourself some gears to install at the same time and your set, and ready for power. If not though, get a mechanic to do it right!
