I need to buy a gt take off rear end and need the best price. What are the parts needed for the whole completion of a rear end? I believe investing in a 7.5 is a waste of time.

 

Don't bother looking on ebay or anything, shipping will kill you. Check out local junkyards. Should run you about $500 or so. Depending on the guy selling it.

 

around here, 300 bucks for a complete rear minus the brakes. then 100 for motive or frpp gears off ebay stores. i too am getting an 8.8 and frpp 4.10s. rear cost is same as an auburn posi unit but this is was stronger. instal for rear should be included with or about 30 dollars more than gears alone since the rear has to be torn down to install gears. look for spending about 600-700 total for the complete rear end swap/gear install
