supercharger???
hey guys i've heard that the 3.8 block can handle about 400 ponies, but what about everything else such as crank etc. where i'm getting at is if i supercharge my stang (i know it will still be a long way off 400horses) but will i have to upgrade anything else, such as the crank or drivetrain?? i know a lot in the exhaust area and intake (bolt on stuff) but when i comes to things like this i don't know much so if some of this sounds stupid, plz just bear with me i'm learning lol. any questions comments and or opinions are greatly apprecciated!!!!
Forge the Pistons/rods, get a GT crank, A good H beam (I reccomend an H over most I's any day), good timing chain/tensioner, and new gastkets. All of that and the 3.8 essex block can handle 900+ horse.
But obviously your tranny and rear end won't be able to handle that. It's a bitching tough block. That would be able to handle that 400 horse on a stock block.
But you might need tougher clutch, flywheel, gaskets, and beefier rear end to get up there.

yea dude you definitly going to have to upgrade the internals. Also the rear and tranny wont handle the amount of power that supercharger will put out especially if its at a GT level. that tranny will only handle a GT motor if its driven very lightly. so theres definetly gonna be alot of cash needed but hey if you got it then youll definetly make a fun car to drive.
that's the only problem i don't have the money i really want to install the supercharger, but now i think i'm just gonna stick w/ the intake, exhaust, short throw kit, etc bolt-ons!! thanks a lot guys!!! how about the stock clutch though how many horses can it handle???
