Default X pipe question??

Hey whats up fellas? Got a question about my exhaust system and knew someone could help me out. Whoever owned my 2004 V6 before me went ahead and ran a tru dual exhaust with catbacks (sweet, saves me some money) well its not aggressive enough for me and I am looking into adding an offroad X or H pipe. My question is now that I have a tru dual exhaust can I purchase a pipe that would be ran on the GT/V8 or do I still have to purchase the pipe for the V6? Someone told me that the V8 one will work only if I have it welded...any input from you guys out there. I am aware that I will have to purchase the 02 extensions also..thanks in advance

It really depends how the previous owner had the exhaust done. Is it fabbed locally or store bought? Secondly, divorced is just fine if that's how it's setup currently. I would leave it alone if it's divorced, or get an H pipe(cats for smog if needed) if you want, pass on the X.

It would cost more to modify the GT mid pipe than to just get a new mid pipe fabbed up.
