Hey guys I have a 98 v6 automatic with 164000 miles on it. When I'm driving I feel like when the cars shifting its just not got enough kick to shift and when it does it speeds up. Is this my transmission or overdrive. And if its the transmission gone bad shud I make it a stick? I also have dual flowmasters on it if that makes a diffference.

Overdrive is just another gear in the transmission, not it's own thing. I don't really get what you're saying. Is it shifting slow or what?

like synyster said, what you posted is kind of confusing. it sounds like your car starts to shift, then gets stuck between shifts, and then randomly shifts when it wants to lol. how long have you had your car? are you sure it isnt just normal?

It just feels like its shifting slow please disregard the overdrive coment. Its feels like after second gear its taking mad long to shift then when it does it feels like its jumping.

did you check the tranny fluid levels?

The fluid looks good the fluid is red little brown

well if its a little brown then id change that out. it could be bad if your tranny is burning fluid
