Default curious about a comp cam

I found the comp cam 212/218 (automatic engine) for 395$ and I was curious if I bought this can it go right into my engine without buying the new spring retainer kit, rocker arms, or new push rods. pretty much leave all that stock and put in the bigger cam? And if so will it put more stress on my engine? it has over 100,xxx ,miles on it. Any info would be great. thanks.

You will need springs and retainers no matter what. you shouldn't need new rocker arms or pushrods. I didn't anyway.

To get to the cam and install it was probably about 6-8 hours, we had a problem with the lifter hold bolt and dropped one into the oil pan, which made it take 2 days, so don't do that. Just pay attention to what you're doing, use a Haynes manual and a cam swap guide for our car and you should be good. My car is a 2000, but it's the same engine and process.

That isn't at all true. Depends on what the lift of the camshaft end up being.

If I remember right, the lift on the 212/218 is still .500/.500, and I know that I needed springs with my cam that had .500/.500 lift

Weird, I know people with .530 lift that still have stock valve springs, .55 is where they tell you to get new springs.
