Default help with new security system

okay so im new to this and i just bought a 99 mustang with a v6 3.8

i have a new security system im hooking up in the car but have no idea what im really doing but i do know how to wire up things and what not, just never done a security system before

my system is a remote start/keyless entry system.

now the car already has a weak security system in it

also what i found out weird was when i took out the old security system i couldnt lock the car from the inside, i had to actually manually lock each door, will this change when i ad the new system into the car?

does anyone know where to get a wiring diagram so i can do this?
or has anyone ever done this?

please help me out

Wiring in remote start and a car alarm is not meant to be done by the rookie. Please do not continue to attempt this or you may end up dead, or with a burned down car, or a car that starts and takes off with nobody in it.

The door locks from the inside don't work because the wires went like this at first
[lock button]------------------[door lock]
then the alarm system came in and did this
[lock button]--------[alarm box]----------[door lock]
then you took it out and
[lock button]--------| |----------[door lock]
^^ broken wire.

I'm not sure how he'd kill himself or burn down a car installing a alarm.

I haven't done a remote start before but have done remote locks, starter kill and door/ignition alarm systems before.

It sounds like he's done wiring before, just has zero familiarity with wiring an alarm system. the power locks is normally by far the most confusing part.
The alarm you bought should have diagrams with how to wire it, and use this link for where to find what wires and what color they are:

if your going to go ahead and wire it your self, which isn't the best of ideas probably, for the love of god PLEASE don't use the cheap but connectors. get a soldering iron and heat shrink tube and do it right.

I want to say go to audiovox tech support and it will give you all the wire colors and locations

My 01' came with a crappy CodeAlarm SureStart remote start and keyless entry system and its got to be the most dangerous POS I have ever seen installed on a car electronically wise.

I have the box unplugged because it is designed to run without it plugged in.

This damn thing would cause the doors to lock and unlock randomly, make the lights flash, start the car randomly and honk.

All problems stopped when I unplugged the box but it was too late and my Sidekick and cash was stolen from my car when it decided to open itself up.

I called CodeAlarm and of course they put the blame on the installers but I told them the problems stopped when I unplugged their crappy box and they said it was still the installers. I said "I'm not stupid, I want this fully removed from my car" and they said they would do it but would have to charge me blah blah bull****.

So I am just going to wait till I do my 5spd swap and swap a new harness into the car that hasn't been spliced into.

Now of course I could always replace the box with another unit (Which they offered to sell me) and I said "Why on Earth would I put myself at the risk of this unit failing again?"

If you want one, have Ford do it with their own kits and warrantied installs.
