Default First engine mod?

Well i had a job and saved up some money and bought a cat back exhaust for my car. it sounds good. Then i bought all leather interior seats for my vert. So i am thinking that my next mod will be the 80 buck CAI from American Muscle. What do you guys think ? Good. Bad.? I am also getting the 8 inch shorty antenna. So i will be spending around 100 bucks.

Its not a bad mod for $80, should net you like 4hp to the wheels. Its kindof just one of those mods everyone does lol. If I could do it again I would have put a K&N drop in in the stock air intake and removed the silencer and saved the money, take it for what its worth.

i looked at the stack racing one they have on AM. Its just the same as the 73 dollar one except the filter, and the price is like 60 dollars more. Well i am waiting to receive the discount code from the forums. Will get a pic up when i install it. Do they make under-drive pulleys for a v6 ? i saw the 4.6 ones, not the 3.8 Can someone send me a link and tell me if it is worth it.

UDP is much better than a CAI. you don't actually gain anything with the intake.

I did the silencer removal and a K&N filter and you can hear the intake like you would with a CAI, and the engine definitely gets more air. And it only costs $40-50 compared to the CAI $75-80 for a decent cheap one that won't peel, and you can install it in like 5 minutes, not even. If you want to do intake either get the windstar or do what I did.

1. Remove wire from positive terminal on battery, use an 8mm socket
2. Unclip the lower intake from the MAF housing by uncliping the hook on the top and the side of the tube.
3. On the side of the engine compartment, there is a bolt attaching the intake to the body. Use an 8mm socket to remove it.
4. Separate the MAF housing form the lower intake, then pull up to get the grommets out and in to get the silencer and air filter out.
5.Once you wiggle it out, there will be a long rubber part on the end of the filter housing. Just pull this off and now is the time to replace your filter if you're doing so. I recommend the K&N filter, like $50 at autozone.
6: Once the silencer is off and the filter is in, pop the grommets back in, bult the bolt back in, reclip the 2 housing, and reconnect your battery.
